Creating a Happy Home Part 2

Here is the next little installment...

Happiness at home is achieved by your willingness to reveal your personal sense of who you are, what's important to you, and your ability to transform your spaces to accommodate your style for living. The goal for all of us is to be happy and to spread that positive, life-affirming energy as far and wide as possible. Through the environment we create for ourselves and our loved ones, we can increase our happiness up to 50 percent. You can make this happen quite simply: Create meaningful rituals-set a pretty tea tray ahead of time, light a fire to bring loved ones together, or arrange fresh-cut flowers. By your generosity and imagination, you can transform ordinary moments at home into extraordinary experiences. As much as possible, your time there should be a celebration. Your home is the most important place on earth.
A place to gather, sustain & reviveOur living room fireplace is very important to my husband, Peter, and me. We have a loveseat and comfortable upholstered chairs on swivels where we come together, alone or with family and friends. In the winter months, a roaring fire creates a focal point of warmth, energy, and the spirit of the moment. We gather there to sustain ourselves. The purple handwoven throw makes us feel cozy. Here, love is generously shared.

WOW! Great info here! The one item I would really encourage is having a vase of fresh flowers at least on the dining room table. I would rather buy my fresh flowers & forget the milk & bread if I had to choose between food or flowers. And trust me I have...lol!

My home is like 'time-capsule' I have everything ever kept by Grandma, her Mom, My Mom, Terri Lou, Kim's Mom, her Mom, Matt, Josh Trevor & so on & on & on...Lordy! During the past 2 weeks I have been cleaning out my craft supplies that are from vinatge fabrics, glues of all types, paint supplies, canvases, trims, images, threads....I kid you not I keep everything 'just in case' So it has been a huge job! I'm down to my last 2 boxes, Thrilled to be so close to finished is an understatement for sure. :o)I inherited Grandma & Grandpa's paperwork from greeting cards everyone sent them to recipes, even Grandma's Mom's handwritten recipes to Grandma! (which I'm wanting to put in Book-Form for everyone) to Grandpa's woodworking shop stuff, car salesman awards & ppwk. etc. etc. THAT'S the next project...all those 'keepsake-tubs' getting a good organizing touch. Then I'll be dividing it all up to send on to others that want some memorabilia from G&G's days gone by.

I did this with all my picture boxes about a year or so ago & love the results. I know where every picture ever taken that I own is located! It was a 'J.O.B.' but well worth the time.

Thanks for the motivsting articles Keri Jo! They are really helpful in setting the mood of our homes. The soft place to land after dealing with 'the world' all day.

Long Distant Hugs!
